Maracay is located in the mountain region in the center of Venezuela. Maracay is also known as The Garden City of Venezuela. There are many military installations in the city. Many famous people, including President Kennedy have stayed in the luxury Hotel Jardin, located on the Plaza. A Walk along the Plaza will find beautifully structured buildings, including the Catedral De Maracay, built in 1743.
