July 24t is Simon Bolivars birthday. This is a well known holiday throughout venezuela because he is one of venezuela's most reveered citizens. Simon bolivar accomlished many thing throughout his 47 year life ( 1783-1830).

One of these accompishements was the unition of What is now columbia, ecuador and venezuela into one independant state called Gran Columbia.
