Getting Around in Montevideo

Edit This

There are two ways to get to Montevideo from Carrasco Airport, you can take a taxi or a bus. By taxi there are some cream colored cars that have monopoly at the airport, and they charge about US$27,00 to Montevideo (!!!). If you cross the street in front of the airport there is a bus stop, the busses with the "Montevideo" sign usually pass by "Plaza de Independencia" and there are some others that go to Tres Cruces Terminal or to Rio Branco Terminal (which is close to the port). From one of these two terminals you can get a much cheaper taxi fare to your hotel. You will spend US$2,00 for the bus, and a maximum of US$4,00 with the taxi (if you stay in downtown).

To get to the airport you can do the same, from the Rio Branco Terminal you can take a bus (every 20 minutes) directly to Carrasco.
