Papillon
Edit This
Papillon is probably the most known disco in the San Martin district, probably because of the band of the same name. The building is a large barn made of concrete and steel, but several levels of dancefloors and bars make it a popular place to dance, watch other people dance, and be watched dancing. Rows and rows of motorcycles in front give a good idea about the number of people inside the disco on any given night. It is probably best to take a mototaxi to go there, even for locals, because they don´t want to worry about getting their motorcycle stolen. Admission can be anything from 1 sol on a normal night, to 10 soles on Valentines Day. Beer and pop are generally about 4 soles ($1.38 US) each. The party rocks till late at night, but dancers who plan to be there past 3 a.m. should bring a pair of earplugs, or they face the next day with ringing in their ears and not being able to hear. The later the night goes, the louder the music gets.
