Chifa Cam-Lu

Edit This

Chifa Cam-Lu is a fairly new restaurant located at Jr. Alegria Arias de Morey #139.  But it's owners are not new to the Chinese food business with their restaurant Chifa Central.  Chifa Cam-Lu has a couple of televisions for customers who want to catch the soccer game.  And there is good seating for groups.  The decor is rather lacking, but the price is cheap.

Food at Chifa Cam-Lu overall is good.  Their fried wontons are not very good, but the fried rice with chicken is excellent.  So it depends on what one is looking for.  One very tasty dish they have that is available all day is Pollo Picante, it is probably considered mild on a level of spiciness, but it has enough heat to give it a good flavor.

Chifa Cam-Lu is a great place to go for lunch.  They have what is called Menu in Tarapoto, which means you get to choose from a special lunch menu with discounted prices for lunch where you might get an entree, fried rice, and either fried wontons or wonton soup.  They recently (March 2008) raised the prices for "menu."  But with prices ranging from 7 soles (US$2.55) to 9 soles (US$3.28), one can hardly complain.  Prices for dinner in the evening and items not on "menu" are slightly higher.
