Getting There

Most bus companies are on the Avenida Sanchez Cerro on block 11 and 12. It's 14 hours and 14 dollar to Lima. 3 hours and 3 bucks to Chiclayo, 7 to Trujillo (change bus in Chiclayo), 5 to Tumbes.

There are frequent buses to Sullana just 20 minutes. From there you can find onward transport to the border with Ecuador.

There are also direct busses from Loja, Ecuador to Piura. Loja Transportation has three busses daily, leaving Loja at 8am, 11am, and 11pm. Their office is also on Sanchez Cerro. The night bus has the disadvantage you might have to wait up to an hour for the border to open. Unless you really want to get to Piura, a good alternative for those who have some spare time is the border crossing via La Balsa (Loja - Vilcabamba - Zumba - La Balsa - San Ignacio - Chachapoyas).
