Edit ThisThe first Music and Arts Festival of its kind, Selvamonos is an attempt to decentralise culture in Peru. Its aim is to take quality Peruvian artists out of Lima and into the jungle, to Oxampampa.
On the 10th of October 2009, Limenians, locals and tourists will collect in Oxapampa to hear fantastic first-rate artists such as Andres Prado and his Acid Jazz Experience, Jean-Pierre Magnet and his 30-piece Serenata de Los Andes, and theatrical acts like the Tarumba Circus and Yuyachkani Theatre Group.

Rock Concerts in Peru
Edit ThisRock music is alive and well in Peru. One of the biggest stars in Peru is Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, who has been scheduled for his first concert in Peru on March 12, 2007. The concert on Water's Dark Side of the Moon Tour is scheduled to run 2 hours and 45 minutes and will include standard Pink Floyd hits as well as songs from Waters solo albums. The concert will include a 1 hour 15 minute rendition of The Dark Side of the Moon.
