Aypate Inca Ruins
Edit ThisThe Aypata "Ceremonial Administrative Center" is a complex of Inca ruins an hours drive out of town. It is dated to the fifteenth century, and is made of the same material as Machu Pichu.
To get to the complex, you have to take a car and later on walk about 20 minutes uphill. Part of the walk is on an ancient Inca Trail. At the start of the path lives a family who offer a very basic place to spend the night.
