Travel in Ecuador
Edit ThisThe most economical way to travel in Ecuador is to go via bus. All of the major cities have a bus station with charter buses that leave hourly to go to outlying towns, or even across the country. A perk of this is that you have the opprotunity to see the beauty of the country. Do be cautious of the sales children the food they are selling is not guarenteed sanitary; as well as traveling on the overnight busses between Guayaquil/Cuena/Quito.
If taking a bus is not your forte there are domestic flights to the countries major cities of Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca that range anywhere from $50.00- $100.00 depending on the flight duration. From there you can find taxi's to outlying cities that are reasonably priced. In the smaller towns trucks are also availible if you do not mind riding with the locals. They are generally excited to see "extranjeros" adapting to their customs. When doing so do beware of bringing expensive camera equipment, laptops, and/or large amounts of cash on the public transit system, as pickpockets are prevelant.
