Devil's Nose Train Ride

The Devil's Nose (Nariz del Diablo) train ride from Alausi goes down the steep incline around mid morning and then back up, taking a couple of hours to do this and passing spectacular views on the way.  Sometimes the modern locomotive pulls the traditional old carriages that are otherwise standing outside the station.  Other days it is the 'autoferro', a kind of bus than runs on the tracks.

The train comes in from Riobamba and goes back there afterwards, this routes takes the entire day.
