Beaches in Santa marta
You really can't go wrong when you decide to take a vacation to the warm and cozy Santa Marta Beaches.
The Caribbean coastline and Santa Marta in particular is the place to go for a spectacular vacation excursion. The beaches in this area of Colombia are known for their soft pale sand that is so comfortable to walk on. The water temperatures make visiting here feasible all year round. The city attracts travelers for a list of reasons, but the spectacular beaches have to be number one.
Santa Marta's Downtown Beach
This beach is located right outside of the main downtown area, which makes it within walking distance of any hotel downtown. The beach is clean even when the place is heavily crowded during the height of the tourist season. Both residents of Santa Marta and visitors find this beach invigorating, making it a favorite of people traveling for business purposes. The back of the beachfront sports many open aired restaurants and cafés that make this beach the optimum place to meet people.
Remember to bring plenty of water to drink and you have to bring your own water sports gear. Snorkeling and scuba diving is a favorite of the local swimmers. Off in the coral reefs you can see scuba divers and this is available if you are interested in trying it out. There are shops on the coastline that offer jet ski rides; if you've never been on one this is a great way to have a fun time.
Tagana Village Beach
Just 5 miles to the east is the location of a very special beach. It is a popular destination among the locals. Even though it has smooth sands and pristine water, its main attraction is in snorkeling and scuba diving. One of the reasons is the cost to rent equipment and the chance to dive with professionals is considered to be the lowest in the world. This is a scuba diver's haven. It is easy to get to also. You could rent a bike or travel on the bus out of Santa Marta up until 9pm. No matter what you like to do on the beach, this is a must see place when you travel to Santa Marta.
