Unlike most islands where it is more practical to change Canadian money into American money before you leave, the exchange rate from Canadian to Colombian is very favourable.

Tip here, take a small amount of US dollars, then use the bank machines on the Island and withdraw directly from your account. You will be pleasantly suprised when you get back home and find your Canadian dollar works out to be pretty close to the US dollar, even with the service fee.
