Scottish run Hosteltrail Guesthouse opened it's doors in July 2007 to offer budget accommodation and up-to-date advice for travellers visiting Colombia as well as acting as the South American base for the HostelTrail project.

With several years of experience managing hostels both in Europe and in South America Tony Clark & Kim Macphee have kitted out this new hostel with everything a backpacker could want during their stay in Popayan.
Facilities... The guesthouse has single, double, twin and dormitory accommodation. Dorm beds cost 15,000 Pesos whilst a double room costs 35,000 Pesos for the room. Single person occupancy is 25,000 Pesos.

A fully equiped self-catering kitchen is also available for guest use along with free Tea & Colombian coffee all day.

Fast broadband internet (2,000 Pesos per hour) with headset and camera for skype and messenger is also available along with a multiple memory card readers and DVD burning facilities. WiFi is available throughout the building and is charged at 3,000 Pesos for a full day.

A comfortable TV area is located on the ground floor with a large collection of movies.

Hot water showers are available 24 hours a day.

A laundry service is available for 8,000 Pesos per load.

International Telephone calls cost 300 Pesos per minute.
