Museo InteractivoEdit This
The Museo Interactivo (Interactive Museum) is a stylish, tech-saavy museum with a mix of immersion experiences, group activities, hands-on exhibits, and displays of new technology. Built and operated by the Empresas Públicas de Medellín ( the Public Utilities of Medellin), much of the museum is about the services that are provided by that company: electricity, water, gas, and telecommunications. For kids, the phenomenological exhibits are great tools for learning the science of materials, resources, and the infrastructure of the city. The exhibits also illustrate the history of the development of the infrastructure that makes Medellin and its suburbs go, so it has a lot to offer tourists wanting to get an understanding of Colombia's modern development.
In addition to things you can learn at the museum, it's just a cool place to be, with hip lounge music playing in the background, smart modernist architecture, and great public outdoor spaces, the museum can be a great place to hang and decompress from the crazy driving and bustling downtown. The Parque de los Pies Descalzos (The Park of Bare Feet), adjacent to the museum, is one place to cool down on a warm day, or just to take a break and enjoy the fountains. The Edificio Inteligente (Smart Building) across the park, also built by the EPM, is reminiscent of Pompidou Centre or the Post-modern Lloyds of London building.
