From the outside it looks like an old central São Paulo house... it has no name or signposting on the street.... when you get inside you are in world class bar, decorated in with Brazilian 'contemporary baroque style' and with a beautiful 'oriental garden'. Brazilian and international 'petiscos'... full meals... great cocktails and very cold beers... the public is quite varied but includes many video-makers, artists and journalists....
Nice environment, great place for happy hour, dinner and party.
English speakers are welcome!
A Figueira Rubaiyat
One of the most beautiful restaurants in the city, Figueira ("fig tree") Rubaiyat is built around a magnificent fig tree, 150 years old. Seating can either be "outside" in the gazebo around and under the tree or inside in the ultra chic and modernistic restaurant.
Inside in the restaurant there is an excellent buffet of seafood and salads which also serves the national dish - Feijoada: a stew of baby pork and beans. There are views of the kitchen and of the magnificent wine cellar. The specatcular bar just has to be seen to be believed!

In the neighborhood called "Jardins" or "Gardens" you can find lots of small and fine restaurants. Jardins is located around Paulista Avenue. Very open-minded area. you can see gay couples around all day long every day. It's the gay area.
There are bars like Gourmet which are excellent for a nice chat and flerts. Very good-looking men go there.
If you want to have a nice gay dinner go to Hitz, it's a small restaurant, charming, quite expensive though. It's at Alameda Lorena.
