beach or neighboring Rio for an escape from Sao Paulo and add depth to
your vacation to Brazil.
Brazil is not complete without a trip to the beach. If you are staying
in Sao Paulo, the closest is Guaruja Beach, which is easily
accessible by bus. The trip takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and
departs from the Jabaqura Bus Station. Choose from several bus lines and arrive there comfortably. Many tour
companies and hotels will try to sell you expensive packages to travel
to the beach, but the trip can be easily arranged on your own. This is
a clean and picturesque beach that you may not want to leave once there.
Rio de Janeiro

great day trip from Sao Paulo. Once there, join a city tour to get the
most out of your short stay. A 6 hour tour will typically run about $70
per person and will provide you with a nice overview of the best sights
in the city. Visit Corcovado's famous Jesus statue and take the cable

Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.
with European roots dating back to 1669 is a major player in the
country's electronic and manufacturing industry, as well as the imports
of Brazil nuts. It is a nice city to visit, as there is a strong
emphasis here on urban planning as evidenced through the impressive selection of parks and gardens. Plant lovers must tour the
Jarmin Botanico to experience this incredible garden, within a two-floor
greenhouse styled to look like a castle. There is also a notable train
trip here that lasts for 3 hours and travels through tunnels and over
bridges for an off-the-beaten-path look at the waterfalls, streams and
vegetation of the area.
When the pavement of Sao Paulo becomes too much, escape to any of these neighboring communities for a refreshing look at some picturesque areas of the country and you will be glad you did.
