The winner in the category best kiosk, the Palaphita Kitch has strengths as a decoration ecologically correct, which uses wood reforestation, the menu inspired by the cuisine of Amazonia, where the owner was born, and sofas in front of the amazing visual of " Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas". Casa Rosa Cultural

Once a luxurious cabaret, Casa Rosa was built in the 1920's and served Rio's high society figures. In the the 90's, after decades of slow decline, it was transformed into a culture center, offering workshops and courses during the day and having live concerts and themed parties at night.

Shenanigans is an Irish pub found right in the middle of Zona Sul Rio. You can order drinks and attempt to sit or play pool (the pub is generally crowded) or make your way through the people to the small balcony and enjoy conversation, a beer, and a cigarette.

Cristal Lounge

I was staying at a hostel in Ipanaema with some other girls when on a Saturday night they suggested a local club, the Cristal Lounge. I hadn´t been around much and they were all good company so we all went to check it out. The music was good and we were dancing all over the place. They serve many different types of drinks at the bar of which there are two: one on the first floor (which is where the dance floor is) and one on the second floor (where people gather around to talk and flirt). Oh, cute boys too! Good times are guaranteed here, so look it up!

The Irish Pub

Located just around the corner from Shenanigan's, The Irish Pub is smaller & cosier. Open from 12:00 everyday excepy Saturday & Monday (14:00). Offers a great Irish breakfast aswell as other food. More authentic than Shenanigan's as there is a real Irish man there, Padraig from Cork. Soccer matches & other big sports events are shown on TV. Well worth a visit.

Saturnino

Saturnino is a bar in Jardim Botanico, filled with hip locals. Lots of variation on the caipirinha and drinks.  On the top list you can find Mule, (tangerine, kiwi, passion fruit and strawberries with vodka and energic), the Saturnino Fresh (vodka, tangerine, lemon and mandarine) and Coconut vanilla (water and scrapings of the coconut and vanilla Absolut).

On my last night in Rio I went to Cristal Lounge, which is a place in Ipanema where you go to on a social occasion and the regular boozing. Being this was my last night out on the town and my hotel was nearby, I wanted a place I could go to for some music and drinking. The place is pretty well structured, including a dance floor (the first floor) and a social hour floor (the second), where you just watch people going by (and fellas, the women here are gorgeous).
