Many of the restaurants specialize in Brazilian cuisine which is popular among the many tourists that visit the city. Some of the most popular dishes are the seafood dishes, prepared in a unique method.

The Alimenta Bistro is one of the most popular restaurants in Fortaleza. The restaurant offers an excellent variety of dishes prepared with utmost care and detail. The restaurant was elected as the best restaurant two years in a row and the chef Fernando Barroso was chosen as the chef of the year in 2005. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Friday 6 p.m. to midnight and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight.

The Coco Bambu is one of the restaurants with a difference. The restaurant has tables and benches made of logs, the candles placed on the tables make it really stand out as a special place. The Coco Bambu restaurant serves Japanese food and is one of the best in the area.

The restaurant serves great seafood dishes; however, the service is not up to the mark. On the overall the restaurant is a great place to dine.

The Pulcinella restaurant is the best Italian restaurant in Fortaleza, the restaurant has two outlets and both are popular. The restaurant serves excellent Italian food; one of its specialties is the Pasta with Seafood. The restaurant is open Monday to Thursday Noon to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The dishes include galinha caipira, carne de sol, buchada, etc. These dishes are very popular and some require prior ordering. The restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The Colher de Pau can seat 380 guests.
