Salon de The el Cisne
Edit ThisAt just three quadras from the central plaza, this place offers a good introduction to Bolivian snacks, without fear of omnipresent turista.
Depending on the time of the day they offer all sorts of pastries, and yucca, potato or corn based delicatessen. You can take a plate and just pick what you like and eat until you´re filled like an empanada. Or you can just have a tea with a boule de berlin. Real Bolivian cuisine.

Mercado Florida
Edit ThisThis meat, fish and fruit market is worth a visit because of the excellent breakfast they offer. Various little bars offer empanadas, salteñas, fruit salad and the like. Fruit salads normally come as a big pile of fruit, some gelatina (you can ask not to have it) topped with a milk-and-fruit jugo or yogurt (3,5 bol or $ 0,5). Salteñas are pastries with a somewhat sweet filling of potatoes, vegetables, an olive, a miniature egg and a bit of chicken meat. The best are those of 2 bolivianos ($ 0,25). Contrary to the heavier more..
