Buena Vista Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeThe small town of Buena Vista is the best base to organise a trip to the impressive National Park of Amboró, at less than two hours of Santa Cruz. It´s an impressive jungle with some gigantic trees and with fascinating insect, bird and mammal wildlife. In town you can find several travel agencies, that organise somewhat pricey trips to cabañas in the jungle (about 50$ for two days, depending on agency and number of people in the group). The municipality can help you to contact the cabañas themselves (about $20, everything included). Their tourist information office is on the central plaza. The advantage is that this is somewhat cheaper, and that your money goes to people from the local communities itself. Thus you help more in sustaining the park, which is in constant danger of being burned down and turned into farmland.
There is no bank in town, but there are several hostels, restaurants and somewhat improvised bars.
