Glaciar Perito Moreno - Santa Cruz

Patricio Cummins

Made famous by Bruce Chatwin, Patagonia covers the southern part of Argentinia up to the Tierra del fuego . It is a land of rugged beauty and wildenress, great for hiking and other outdoor sports.

Patagonia does not have any big cities - the ski resort of Bariloche and oil boom town Comodoro Rivadavia are probably the closest thing - but city life is not what you are here for. The main attractions are the Glacieres National Park near the border with Chile, the Tierra del fuego , Valdes Peninsula , the Ephemeral Lakes and the Torres del Paine National Park.
