Laramie Travel Guide

Home of the University of Wyoming, Laramie is about 1 hour away from the state capital Cheyenne.  Very close to ski areas and beautiful landscapes, Laramie is a great place to visit.  History is all around you with areas like the Wyoming Territorial Park which includes the original prison where Butch Cassidy once was held.  Down town Laramie is also full of history with buildings dating back to the start of the town in May of 1868.  The town is named after Jacques LaRamee who was a trapper in the area.  Laramie is full of western history and is a great place to take the whole family!
