border. It is an impressive natural monument. The jutting rock
portion is the solid core of an extinct volcano, whose slopes have
eroded away, leaving the dense rock behind. There are thousands
of vertical cylinders of rock shooting up hundreds of feet from the
prairie below. The park around the tower is great for hiking and
offers many scenic area for picture taking. Good accessibility
makes the park perfect for vacationing families, outdoor enthusiastis,
and "park-hoppers". Definitely a must-see if you're in this part of the
country.
