Stowe Travel Guide

Stowe is known as the "Ski Capitol of the East" Stowe is also a year round destination for it's Mountains, recreation, unspoiled scenery, galleries, spas and shops. Stowe is home to the Trapp Family Lodge founded and still operated by the Trapp Family of "Sound of Music" fame. It is near Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream factory and the Vermont Ski Museum. The closest major airport is in Burlington, Vermont about 45 minutes away. Driving to Vermont will usually be on highways most all the way. Visitors driving to Stowe head North to Vermont Rt 89 and then take exit 10 North toward Stowe. After a 10- 15 minute drive the traveler will arrive at a Stop sign. This is Stowe village and the junction of Routes 100 and 108.
