Park City Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seePark City is perhaps the most glamorous and glittering of Utah's ski resort towns. It's trendy, expensive, and a great place to watch the well-to-do as they rub elbows with the hoi-polloi. Still, one thing about Park City is that the history is genuine.
The city began as a mining camp in the mountains, riding the glory days of silver mining. Up until recently, it was still an active silver producer. Both the Union Pacific and the Denver & Rio Grande Western built railroads up to the town. But then the boom ended, and Park City entered a period of genteel neglect, with its once glorious mansions and houses fading and fraying around the edges. The mining company built a ski resort to supplement its incomes, and the seeds of the new boom were planted.
Now, Park City thrives with new condos, fancy houses, three world class ski resorts, fabulous restaurants, art galleries, film festivals, golfing, and every other amusement favored by the leisure class. It's a fun place to visit in any season. Don't miss it!
