Bryce Canyon Travel Guide

Bryce Canyon National Park is located in Southern Utah. This could be called the land of the hoodoos. This area of Utah located on the Colorado Plateau was created about 10 million years ago when the earth heaved up large blocks of sediment that became Table Cliffs. These were eroded by rivers forming canyon edges. Wind and rain then began to form the hoodoos you see today.

There is an 18 mile road inside the National Park that provides access to some very spectacular views of the canyon below. There are numerous trails that lead down into the canyon for a close up view of the hoodoo formations. There is camping on the top of canyon as well as camps for hikers down inside the canyon.

You will find lodging inside the park at the Bryce Canyon Lodge as well as just outside the park. This is a very isolated area of Utah so there is not much to chose from for lodging.

If you are just a sight seeing type you just need two days. If you are a serious hiker and want to get down inside the canyon you need three days or more.
