Brigham City (pop. 17,411, 2000 U.S. Census) is the county seat of Box Elder County. Its most notable visitor attraction may be the expansive Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge which features a beautiful new visitors center. Brigham City is also a good jumping off point for visits to Golden Spike National Historic Site, Mantua, Willard Bay and Bear River.
Brigham City remains a quiet town with a rural feel. It is surrounded by family farms and lies at the base of the Wasatch Mountain Range. Its history includes Baron Woolen Mills and a large school for Native American children (long since disbanded, largely removed and replaced by a golf course).
