Getting Around

Charleston is a wonderful place to explore by foot. Visitors find many new sights that they would miss if they drove through these narrow, one way, cobblestoned streets. Other options include the romantic horse-driven carriage rides. Of course there is a charge for this mode of seeing and learning about the city. Some visitors choose to bring their bicycles to Charleston in order to ride through the city at their own pace. Pedi-cabs (people propelled cabs) or yet another option. Of course a car is needed to visit the nearby beaches and other sights not in the downtown historic area.
