Founded in 1829 and incorporated in 1844, Oregon City was the first city in the United States incorporated west of the Rockies. It is the county seat of Clackamas County, Oregon. The US Census Bureau 2006 estimates the city had a total population of 30,667.


Located southeast of Portland on the east bank of the Willamette River, it first became the home to fur traders and missionaries. Now it is home to numerous Historic Distrists and landmarks.
