Located on Historic Route 66, the county seat of Creek County, Oklahoma, Sapulpa is a city of over 19,000 people.  From the Indian Territory history to the Glenpool oil strike, from Railroad town to brick and glass manufacturing, Sapulpa has been shaped by many diverse influences over the years.  The Sapulpa Main Street project and other efforts have ensured that the distinctive character of Sapulpa's downtown district, most of which was built before the 1920s, will remain for locals and tourists to appreciate.

Not just a bedroom community to Tulsa, Sapulpa is a city with a long history in the manufacturing of glass containers and pottery tableware.  The Frankoma Pottery company on the edge of town on Frankoma Road attracts many tourists for plant tours and its retail outlet.  In history, Sapulpa has as many as four glass plants making containers of all kinds.  Liberty Glass is probably the best known company that was eventually bought out by the current owner.

Other attractions in and around Sapulpa include Creek County Courthouse, Heyburn Lake, Lake Sahoma, Pretty Water Lake, Sapulpa Community Theater, Sapulpa Library, Sapulpa Historical Museum, Sapulpa Municiple Golf Course, Sapulpa Trolly and Rail Museum.

Events in Sapulpa include the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Kelly Lane Park in March; in the first weekend of June is the Sapulpa Main Street's Route 66 Blowout Classic Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show; and a fireworks display over the Sapulpa Golf Course brings in spectators from all over the area.  Travellers also go to Sapulpa the last weekend of July for the Annual Downtown Sidewalk Sale and the Marshall Royal Jazz Festival and the Freedom Festival.  Kids can trick-or-treat in Sapulpa's Main Street in October.  The Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Christmas Parade the first Saturday in December.
