Ardmore Travel Guide

Ardmore, in the south central Oklahoma county of Carter, is the capital of Oklahoma's Fun Country.  With a population of nearly 24,000 people, Ardmore is about halfway between Oklahoma City and Dallas.  It affords easy access to the Arbuckle Mountains, Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Lake Murray State Park, and Lake Texoma State Park.

It is one of several Oklahoma cities along the railroad between Dallas and Oklahoma City that was named after cities on the Pennsylvania line, and was founded in 1887.
