West Side Market
Edit ThisWest Side Market interior
This is one of the must-see attractions in Cleveland. While the museums, restaurants, and entertainment are all wonderful, nothing says 'Cleveland' so much as the West Side Market. This grand building finished in 1912 is done in the attractive Beaux-Arts architecture, and its clock tower is unmistankenable in the skyline on the west side of the Cuyahoga. It is the last municipally-owned market in the country, and you can buy excellent meats, cheeses, produce, baked goods, pasta, and other food items from individual vendoors whose families have operated a stand more..

Arcade
Edit ThisArcade interior
This building is the city's most beloved after Terminal Tower. Few buildings in the U.S. rival the majesty of Cleveland's Arcade. It was built in 1890 and its design drew from inspiration of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele arcade in Milan, and is deemed absolutely irreplaceable today. This building is located just east of Public Square and serves as an indoor pedestrian passageway between the intersection of E.4th and Euclid and Superior Avenue. It was the country's first indoor shopping mall, but currently houses a popular foodcourt for downtown workers during more..

Rockefeller Park
Edit ThisThis serves somewhat as Cleveland's central park. The land for the park was donated to the city from the estate of one of Cleveland's most famous persons; John D. Rockefeller. It is located between Lake Erie and University Circle along Martin Luther King Boulevard running north-south and winding under romantic stone bridges. The park contains trails, a lagoon, greenhouse, and Cleveland's cultural gardens. Every ethnic group from Cleveland's history that makes up the city's rich diversity has a dedicated garden in the park.

Public Square
Edit ThisPublic Square is the heart of downtown Cleveland. It is a park intersected by Ontario Avenue running north-south, and Superior Avenue running east-west. This is a nice place of fountains, benches, and trees in Downtown Cleveland. It is popular with many downtown workers as a place to take their lunch, and a popular spot for photo opportunities. Public Square is anchored by the city's three tallest buildings, Terminal Tower, Key Tower, and BP Building. Terminal Tower
Edit ThisTerminal Tower lobby
This is the city's signature skyscraper. It anchors Public Square and the city's skyline. It was completed in 1929, and was one of the tallest buildings in the world when it was completed. This skyscraper is interesting in that it was built in a neoclassical style, because most skyscrapers at this time were built in Art Deco. The result is a highly unique and identifiable building for Cleveland. The tower is one of Cleveland's most prestigeous address for downtown firms. One of the major tenants of Terminal Tower is the real estate development giant Forest City Enterprises more..

This is a phenomenal example of American city civic centers. The local, county, and federal government all have addresses in this district. This is a nice place for a picnic lunch downtown or photo opportunities. It is located between Lakeside and Rockwell Avenue and along E.6th St.

St. John the Evangelist Cathedral
Edit ThisThis is Cleveland's beautiful gothic Catholic Cathedral, and a landmark building on E.9th Street in the city's financial district just a few blocks east of Public Square. It is open throughout the day, and many downtown workers stop in for daily prayer, Mass, or Confession. A cathedral stood on the site for many years, but the current structure was completed in the late 1940s. The facade is made of a warm-colored sandstone, and the interior is rich with colors of deep blue, shining gold, red, and dark wood. The stain glass windows and celestial scene on the interior more..

Lakeview Cemetery
Edit ThisMore famous people are probably burried here than anywhere else in Cleveland. It is the final resting place of industrialist John D. Rockefeller, President James A. Garfield, and famous law enforcement agent Elliot Ness. Many more famous politicians, industrialists, and sports figures from Cleveland are burried in this cemetery, and it is still in operation today. It is a beautiful garden cemetery that sits surrounded by University Circle, Little Italy, and Coventry Village.
