Medora Travel Guide

Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see
If you're a fan of Cowboy Poetry you have come to the right place. The Dakota Cowboy Poetry Gathering is held right here in Medora every year in May. But there is a lot more to this small historic town 220 km west of Bismarck.

Medora is the gateway to the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The town is very much tied to the history of the West. The Medora Museum gives you a good intro to the history of the northern plains through a collection of Native American and frontier artifacts and other memorabilia. In the centre you also find a historic district of restored buildings constructed in the 1880s. Another attraction is the Chateau de Mores a restored chateau of the town’s founder, the Marquis de Mores.
