Franklin NC is the county seat of Macon County with a population of about 3500 in a county with about 30,000 people total. With easy access from Atlanta and Florida, it has many spring and summer part time residents, and the population doubles during that time of year.

Franklin NC is a fantastic place to vacation and a wonderful place to live! We're only 2 hours north of Atlanta GA, but nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and within an hour or two driving distance from all major attractions in the region. Lots of new hotel chains have opened up recently to give visitors a choice of major hotel chains or many more quaint bed and breakfast places.
