Ithaca (Tompkins County) Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeIthaca is located as the southernmost tip of Cayuga Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of New York State.
This small city is home to Cornell University, and is only a 3-4 hour trip by bus from New York City. Tours of the Cornell University campus (an Ivy League University) are available and highly recommended. An interesting feature of Cornell is that it has what is considered to be the best hotel hospitality program in the USA and it includes a 3-star Statler Hotel on campus for training and use.
The area is well know for the multiple gorges throughout the area and its waterfalls. After a rainfall it was incredible to see dozens of waterfalls all over but especially beside the highway between Ithaca and Taughannock Falls State Park where almost every ravine had a waterfall or cascade.
