Getting Around

Edit This

Buffalo benefits from a comprehensive public transportation system that reaches most communities in Erie and Niagara Counties.  The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's Metro Bus and Rail system operates a number of hubs in which passengers can easily transfer between bus and rail routes.

Service operates DAILY in the City of Buffalo, with less frequent or no service to some outer areas on weekends and certain holidays.  The fare varies from $1.75 - 2.65 depending on the distance traveled (zone crossing).

Buffalo Area Airports

Edit This

The Buffalo Niagara region has two airports:

BUF (the Greater Buffalo Niagara International Airport) is located due east of the City of Buffalo, and is approximately a 40 minute bus ride to the city center (downtown).  This airport currently handles ALL commercial air traffic.

IAG (Niagara Falls International Airport) is located north of Buffalo, in the town of Niagara.  A couple charter airlines have recently shown interest in returning commercial and charter air service, but nothing has resulted from the talks.
