Wildwood Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeWildwood is an adorable 50's town. There are many certified Doo-Wop motels in Wildwood, as well as many 50's-styled diners where the waitresses take your order in poodle skirts. The boardwalk is wide and beautiful. Rides, amusements, and trolley cars are all available right on the boards. Also there is the Convention Center right on the boardwalk where many concerts are held. On the bay side of the island you can find a beautiful sunset every night.
For some great food morning, noon, or night, try out these 50's Diners:
The Wildwood Diner
The Pink Cadillac Diner
The Doo-Wop Diner (this one is right on the boardwalk)
Also check out Laura's Fudge, one block off the boardwalk for some Out Of This World candies.
This destination is great for families and young children. A great motel is the Caramara Motel ( www.Caramara.com). It is an older Doo-Wop certified motel, but it is as clean as a whistle, with a nice in-ground pool and gas grills for your use.
Every year in October they have their Fabulous 50's Weekend, complete with concerts, Record Hops, car shows, hula-hoop contests, and more. This year the concert had included acts like Chubby Checker, Buddy Holly's Crickets, and more.
