Toms River is located on the Jersey Shore on the center/southern side of the state in Ocean County.  This town has a little bit of everything for everyone.  Located on the coast, there are abundant beaches, inlets, and parks for the outdoor-loving soul.  For those more inclined to be indoors, there are skating rinks, gyms, and indoor sports centers.

The town boasts a beautiful historic downtown center, with a huge library, that sits right on the river.  There are paddleboat rides on the River Lady ( www.riverlady.com) that take you into the beautiful Barnegat Bay.

For the restauranteur, there are a bevy of choices.  From almost any chain restaurant you can think of, to privately-owned specialty places, to an abundant choice of diners, there is something to satisfy every palate.

For the visitor, there hotels are numerous.  There are a number of fairs, and the new Toms Riverfest ( www.trfest.com) has been a huge hit for the past two summers, chock full of food, games, prizes, rides, and big-name concerts.

Within minutes, over the Tunney-Mathis Bridge (Route 37 east), you then have at your disposal the beaches and boardwalks of the Jersey Shore.  Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, Island Beach State Park, and Point Pleasant are gems of the Jersey Shore.  There are aquariums, miniature golf, rides, and stand after stand of games for people of all ages.  And not to be missed is the typical 'boardwalk fare'.....sausage sandwiches, ice cream, cotton candy, funnel cakes, zeppoles, vinegar fries, and the hugest slices of pizza you will ever see.

A visit to the Jersey Shore will surely not disappoint you.  There are many activities for everyone...come and try them for yourself!
