Wendover Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeWendover is one of those extreme desert locations. Sitting on the border of Utah and Nevada, on the edge of the fearsome Great Salt Lake Desert, near Pilot Peak, Wendover is to some little more than an exit off Interstate 80, a wide spot on the highway where one can pull off to a casino or gas station before the hard pull across the desert to Salt Lake City or Wells. Still, that's being too dismissive. Pilot Peak is a famous landmark for the wagon trains of the 19th century. It's worth a visit. To the south are unusual things like the Utah ghost town of Gold Hill, the Indian village of Ibapah, and the Gosiute Reservation. It's lonely country, but compelling in a strange way.
