Henderson Bird Reserve

The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is open daily from 6 am to 3 pm year round. The last entry is at 2:45 pm. The Preserve is located at 2400 B Moser Drive, near the intersection of Sunset Road and Boulder Highway (look for signs in the medians). It is located within the Water Treatment Facility and sits on approximately 140 acres.

Dancing Fountains at the Bellagio

More than 1,000 fountains (on an 8-acre manmade lake) dance to the sounds of Frank Sinatra and other artists in unison with lights and choreographed water that shoots more than 220 feet into the sky. This is an amazing sight to see right smack in the middle of the desert! Performances are Monday-Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday at 12 p.m. Performances start every half hour until 6:00 p.m. After 6:00 p.m. performances are every 15 minutes until 12 a.m. Performances are free, of course.

STAR TREK: THE EXPERIENCE

Fremont Street

Fremont Street is where Las Vegas and all its glory originated from.It lies about a mile away from the strip and a safer option for visiting it would be to take a cab there.There is the Fremont Street Experience, a magnificent lit up ceiling that puts on a laser show every hour, all in different themes, such as Elvis, the sixties, boogie music etc.

The glass-domed 90,000-square-foot conservatory features 1,200 bins of exotic plants and flowers such as orchids, lilies and hyacinth. Displays changed monthly.

Gondola Rides at the Venetian

This romantic ride is the perfect for couples and it is also a relaxing ride for singles looking to take a break from the Strip. The trip travels down the Grand Canal past cafes, under bridges and balconies and past other boats. Venetian Gondola rides also feature a singing gondolier and passengers have their choice of indoor or outdoor rides. Yes, the MGM Grand houses a real live lion habitat and boy is it spectacular! Visitors can walk above, around, below, and through a glass-enclosed habitat to watch lions at rest or on the prowl. The habitat includes both adult and adorable baby lion cubs. The Stratosphere Thrill Rides and Observation Deck

If you have the stomach for a ride that will shoot you 160 feet straight up into the air in 2.5 seconds (at 45 mph), then the Big Shot ($13) ride at the Stratosphere is the thrill ride for you. SHARK REEF

The main tank holds more than 1 million gallons of water and features a 20-foot-long acrylic tunnel for surround viewing, similiar to Sea World. The predator-based attraction features 2,000 animals from 100 different species, with 13 shark species. Also features jellyfish, manta rays, sea turtles, crocodiles and other exotic animals.
