For Fremont Street the only accommodation I would recommend would be The Golden Nugget. It is the only one with pool amenities, has very welcoming staff, a great selection of entertainment and places to eat; it also opens up onto Fremont Street itself.

On the strip I would recommend the Venetian for couples, due to it being modeled around Venice itself, including gondola features.

For families I would recommend Stratosphere. This is one of the two hotels in the city of Las Vegas that changes money. This makes the hotel ideal for any last minute money changes. It also includes various shops to suit most tastes and has the highest roller coaster in the world placed on top of it. However, for families that contain anyone with walking difficulties or young children, I would recommend Excalibur, as it is directly on the strip, whereas Stratosphere is just off the strip.

Also for families, I would very highly reccommend Mandalay Bay which is part of the Four Seasons hotels. Mandalay Bay is directly on the strip and is one of the most luxurious hotels in Vegas. You could dive into Mandalay Bay's lush, 11-acre tropical sand beach. Daydream the day away as you float on a lazy river ride, or swim in one of their three pristine pools. The Mandalay Beach offers huge waves, whirlpools, relaxing swimming pools and water rapids, which are perfect for adults and kids alike. It also has an aquariam called Shark Reef inside the actual hotel, and guests are given the chance to watch live webcams from their TVs in their rooms of the fish.

Other hotels I would recommend for their sights and beauty would be the Bellagio, Mirage and New York, New York.

For those of you that aren't concerned with themes and just need a place to rest your head, I would suggest the Stardust. The tower rooms are clean and comfortable and the rates are usually lower than most of the themed hotels on the strip. Many of the usual guests at the Stardust appear to be an older/quieter generation so there are very few disturbances when you finally decide to get some sleep. Every time we have stayed they have also offered us two free buffet meals for each day of our stay.

Vegas is known for its many large hotels with amazing amenities including tropical pool oasis, shopping, shows, restaurants and, of course, the casinos.
