Helena Travel Guide

Helena is Montana's state capital city, located in west-central Montana. Not as hip as Missoula or Bozeman, Helena boasts better access to more varied terrain (it's equidistant from Yellowstone and Glacier National Park) and has a laid-back local character all it's own. Founded in the mid-1800's by gold miners, Helena boasts a historic downtown area, museums, and one of the country's only city parks that is a mountain (Mt. Helena).
