Billings is the largest city in Montana and is host to many interesting and historic events. Billings was established in 1882 by the Northern Pacific Railway and named for the president of the railway, Frederick Billings. The city's history includes the famous as well as the infamous. One of the more colorful charecters was cigar-smoking, gun toting Martha Cannary, better known as Calamity Jane, a pal of Wild Bill Hickok.
