Stockbridge Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeStockbridge is located at the west end of Massachusetts near the New York State boundary. It is an extremely small place, basically a T-junction. The main street in Stockbridge is called Main Street and really is one block long.
Being so small, it is a surprise that Stockbridge is home to two famous US landmarks.
The first is the historic Red Lion Inn built in 1773 and still operating as an Inn. A meal at The Red Lion Inn is a must if you are in Stockbridge as the food is fantastic.
The second is feature is that famed US painter Norman Rockwell spent many years living and painting in Stockbridge. His studio used to be on Main Street from where he painted "small town America" for The Saturday Evening Post. The studio has been moved just outside of town to a larger property which also includes a new museum building to house all of his artwork.
