Hallowell Travel Guide

Hallowell is a small town adjacent to Augusta along the Kennebec River and built along a precipitous hillside. Hallowell is famous for its large assortment unusual antique shops, coffee shops, restaurants, and bookstores. All along the main street are interesting places to shop, and great places to eat. Hallowell is also famous for its unusual population of skilled musicians, artists and artisans that that grace its pubs, shops and restaurants with their talents. The town is scenic and historical, with many homes dating well into the 1700's. There are also many beautiful victorian houses.
