Located near the Aquarium of the Americas, Canal Place  is an excellent place to shop upscale designer fashions such as BCBG, Coach, Kenneth Cole, and Ann Taylor as well as unique arts and crafts by local artists at Rhino Gallery. This shopping destination is also home to Canal Place Cinema, the Southern Repertory Theater, the Wyndham New Orleans at Canal Place and Saks Fifth Avenue. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Community Flea Market

Even if it's a little stick outside, you will soon forget about the humidity after visiting one or two vendors' tables at this open-air market. Open daily from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Community Flea Market sells everything from art, jewelry, handbags, vintage clothing and other items to T-shirts, collectibles, and tons of new items.

Garden District Book Shop

This is one of Anne Rice's favorite bookstores, so it must be awesome. Garden District Book Shop is small, but it's packed with books of all kinds such as cookbooks, fiction titles, non-fiction titles, history titles, and more by national, regional, and local authors. Also on the menu -- limited editions of Anne Rice's work along with autographed copies of some of her books. Garden District Book Shop is located in the historic property called the Rink.
