N. of Nashville. Primarily an agriculture community- the town boasts of several well-known residents- in years gone by and presently. Among them:

About 5 mi. N. of Franklin is "Octagon Hall Museum", the only eight-sided brick house in KY, and only one of just a few in the United States. It was built before the Civil War and at one time over 12,000 troops camped near here.
