The Kansas Wheat Festival is the highlight of summer for many folks from Wellington and surrounding areas.  Since September 1900, when the festival was held as a post harvest event, the festival has celebrated the fact that winter wheat has been a major factor in the economy of Sumner County.

Now the Kansas Wheat Festival is a five-day event held every July with a parade, a classic car show, an arts show, live music and a carnival.
