The City of Abilene has a population of about 6,400 and is the county seat for Dickinson County.
A worthwhile attraction is the Eisenhower Center which has his boyhood home, the Eisenhower Presidential Library, a Museum, a Place of Meditation and his statue.
A great place to eat in Abilene is the historic (1870) Brookville Hotel which serves all you can eat family style chicken dinners.
