It is a down to earth place with good food at a good price. The locals love it. Be sure to check the hours on the link above before you go.
Another great restaurant is the South Street Smokehouse, situated on the south side of South Street (Ind. 26) a block west of Sagamore Parkway. They serve spectacular barbecue from lunch through dinner Mondays through Saturdays.
Don't trust the map associated with this entry. It's Lafayette LOUISIANA.
Another eatery worth visiting in downtown Lafayette is McCord's at the corner of Fifth and Main. It's a one-time pharmacist and soda fountain that still serves a variety of fountain treats, including cinnamon sodas. A series of owners have amazingly left the dark wooden soda counter and display intact and in apparently good condition; the glass display boxes are filled with candies, including plenty of hearty fudge.Additional travel guides are available in ten languages at Wikitravel.org
